Children of Mali – Education Update – December 2023

The tutoring has been somewhat modified in the past few months as some of our older troupe members needed some extra help to pass the state exams. Bintou, our field coordinator, explained that these girls were in danger of failing the exam that is necessary to pass to continue at the high school level. The extra tutoring was successful as all of them passed!

But we also got some bad news: the straw roof on the paillotte was damaged by heavy rain and it needs to be replaced. We had the paillotte (an African style structure) built about 10 years ago and we knew that sooner or later, the roof would have to be redone. The time has come, and we must raise $2000 for a new roof. We are launching a campaign to come up with the necessary funds. Please help if you can! Thanks.
