East Africa Permaculture Update – April 2021

We have completed 4 projects in the Molo Region of Kenya. Although this is now the dry season, the projects are doing well.

At one of the projects there is a greenhouse. It is positioned to capture the runoff water from the main house.

When we started this project only pumpkins were planted in the greenhouse. They were not growing well at all. Joash, our ICO Farm Manager, and his work crew removed all the pumpkins. Tomatoes were planted, and they are doing amazingly well.

The food is used to help feed the boys at Baraka Boys School next door. In addition, excess food is given to the poor in the area immediately surrounding the project.

In the picture below, you will see the school principal, Sister Judy Kemento, working with the crew in the greenhouse.
