Our current project is a Permaculture and Demonstration Farm at a Maasai Village in Makuyuni in Tanzania. The elders of Makuyuni Maasai village have expressed the need for food security and sustainable livelihoods for their people. As such, the Maasai Conservation Fund has begun working with the elders to plan our next collaborative project: a permaculture-based working farm and educational demonstration site.
Phase 1 of the Shamba Darasa Permaculture and Demonstration Farm will occur over a period of 3 weeks to include the following installation activities:
- Perimeter Fencing
- Food Forest phase 1
- Windbreaks
- First Gardens
- 2 Ponds
- Water Harvesting Approach
- Tree Nursery Establishment
