Nepal Irrigation Project Update – November 2025

ICO members Jennifer Wade and Kathy Power recently returned to the village of Lahachowk , where they were warmly welcomed by community members and old friends. Together with ICO member Navin Adhikari, they walked the full 3+ kilometres of the village’s irrigation system—an initiative made possible through the generosity of ICO donors.

The irrigation project continues to thrive, with another strong harvest expected this year. This success is a testament to the resilience and dedication of the Lahachowk community and the ongoing support from our global network.

Earlier this spring, ICO members in Nepal had paused plans for further upgrades, hopeful that government funding might become available. However, following recent unrest in the country that resulted in widespread damage to government infrastructure, it has become clear that such support is no longer feasible.

In close consultation with local leaders, ICO has committed to stepping in once again. Minor repairs and essential updates to the irrigation system will move forward with ICO’s support, ensuring the community can continue to grow food, build resilience, and thrive.

We are deeply grateful to our donors for making this work possible. Your support continues to make a lasting impact.
