Irrigation canal
Nepal Irrigation Project Update – March 2024

The irrigation project continues to bring great results with the fall rice harvest bringing in a bountiful harvest. With over two kilometres of cemented irrigation, it has resulted in a 60% increase in crops in many areas. When the irrigation canals were made out of dug-out mud ditches, during the heavy monsoon they often collapsed and the water flooded housing and diverted much-needed water away from the rice fields. ICO will continue to work with village development committees and local farmers to discuss future endeavours.
