Today we welcomed to Bondo our 2 ICO colleagues from Rwanda, Musa and Pascal. These 2 clay stove experts are here for 12 days to train local clay workers on how to build the eco-stoves which have been so successful in Rwanda. After a grueling 2 night bus journey from Rwanda, they arrived here this morning tired but keen to start the photo [below] they can be seen this afternoon interviewing Jennifer, a small restaurant owner who has been using one of our test stoves since July 2012. Tomorrow we head up to Got Ramogi to run a training workshop for the clay workers.

Hi folks, this is Mark and Jennifer reporting back from the field on completion of the second successful “Together We Can!” Football Tournament held in Bondo, Kenya.  This tournament was held at Nyakasumbi Primary School on 09 and 16 June 2012, with a total of 352 students participating in 26 matches.  Priority was given to placing all of the school’s numerous orphans and other vulnerable children on teams, such that they could be uplifted and empowered.

Check out the excellent developments going on in Bondo, Kenya, with the Bondo Soccer Initiative.  Congratulations Mark and Jennifer for all your hard work, and a big congratulations to the kids and their families!  The community really worked hard and brought all the positive energy needed to make this event such a great success. This was the first event of many to come and a proud moment for ICO.

We are happy to present this documentary video filmed and edited by Fahd Ssebagala of Kampala, Uganada.
