Kawangware School Sponsorship Update – February 2026
2025 was a challenging and rewarding year for us. One of our highlights has been Pascal graduating, meaning we have now fully seen two children from grade 1 through to graduation. Challenges came from increased costs, both for our donors as well as in Kenya. The support and commitment from our sponsors who have continued to stand by the children is inspiring. For some this meant personal sacrifices in order to continue sending what they are able to, or in order to increase contributions to match the increased costs in Kenya. We were happy to be able to continue the Christmas Food Hamper program, even if in a more limited capacity than previous years. This program is essential to ensuring that students stay well fed over the school break so that they can return to class in the New Year with energy to focus.

We are excited for the 2026 year, 1st term is now well underway for the students. This year three of the students we support will be graduating, two more students entered high school, and eight students have entered their last year of elementary school. We feel the challenges of 2025 have made us more prepared for the future, and this year will increase fundraising efforts. We are also seeking sponsors for four students whose sponsors were no longer able to support them, as well as partial sponsorship for three students whose sponsors are still able to contribute a portion of fees, but are needing a top-up due to the increased costs. Single donations are also greatly appreciated. These help to bridge the gap while we search for sponsors or if there is an event which leads to a sponsor no longer being able to contribute.  For single donations, we are happy to provide a report card & letter update for as long as the donation helps bridge the gap (ie for the term). If this is desired please let us know.

As always, we encourage people curious about potential sponsorship, donations and current school fees to reach out to us at kelsey@innovativecommunities.org.
