Restoring Sight and Empowering Women: ICO’s 5th Free Eye Health Camp in Kusmisera
ICO proudly hosted its 5th free eye health camp in the remote village of Kusmisera, Baglung District — a life-changing initiative made possible by the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors.

👁 Eye Care for All ICO member Jennifer Wade joined the mission on the ground, helping deliver vital eye care services to 1,137 individuals.
- 350+ pairs of reading glasses were distributed, including 150 pairs hand-carried from Canada in Jennifer’s backpack — a testament to the power of grassroots generosity.
- 58 patients received free cataract surgeries, regaining their vision and independence.
💗 Women’s Health Initiative This camp also introduced a vital women’s health component, offering free screenings and education on:
- Cervical and breast cancer
- Prolapsed uterus assessments
A total of 239 women accessed these services, many for the first time.
- Over 200 ultrasound assessments were conducted.
- While many conditions were treated locally, 14 women will travel to the city for ICO-funded prolapsed uterus surgeries, ensuring they receive the care they need.
