Suman left his small, impoverished village in the far West of Nepal when he was in grade ten, seeking higher education in the city of Pokhara. He is from the Dalit caste, which is considered the lowest caste. He was originally sponsored by another organization, but the donor passed away and the family decided not to continue his sponsorship. ICO field lead Binod Koirala heard of the incredibly bright student and ICO was able to continue his dream of becoming a lawyer.

This incredible milestone is a direct result of the kindness and generosity of ICO’s donors. We are bursting with pride for Suman’s achievement and his unwavering commitment to serving our community.
