Nepal Kaski Education Update – November 2021

As we near the end of the year I am happy to report our 7 bright ICO students continue to do well in school, including the 5 college students and 2 primary school-aged students. Due to COVID there have been numerous times where the students were restricted to online studies which poses problems especially for one of the new ICO students who was attempting to complete her engineering assignments on an old ‘flip’ style cell phone. Thanks to our generous donors, ICO was able to purchase this dedicated student a laptop to continue to support her studies.

Also, as a result of COVID, some of our initiatives have been delayed several months, and finally the hand-off ceremony was held for the grand opening of the computer lab donated at Dharmasthali Secondary School in Pokhara. The official opening included students and adults being entertained by traditional dancing and ICO named on the official plaque acknowledging our contribution towards the 20-computer lab. Pictured is our new ICO student Shristi working on her laptop, along with pictures of the new computer lab opening.
