Victoria

Victoria is the vibrant capital of British Columbia, located on the beautiful Vancouver Island.  Industries were once largely based in the navy, which is still present in Victoria today, but now they revolve around tourism for the most part.  Victoria is known for it's beautiful gardens, Victorian architecture, and lively sea coast, as well as it's unique and fascinating culture.

Unfortunately, there is a continuing problem with homelessness in Victoria.  Victoria needs your support for people with mental health issues and addictions in order to overcome some of these homelessness issues.

This building was acquired by ICO in 2003 and provides accommodation and support to 24 citizens who have mental health challenges and are possibly at risk of homelessness. Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) provides the support services and acts as lessee.

Cedar Grove was acquired in 2002 and provides accommodation and support to 22 citizens who are homeless with multiple mental health issues including addictions. Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) provided the support services and acted as lessee to ICO. Cool Aid Society operated the programs on behalf of VIHA.

The Timberline and Carihi International Co-op class just returned back from their work placement trip to Nepal. A group of 23 students and chaperones spent their spring break experiencing the culture and adventures the small country had to offer. The class worked with InnovativeCommunities.org Foundation on the Irrigation Initiative, and managed to raise enough money to fund 1.5 kilometers of the irrigation canal. This effort helped to aid thousands of farming families in the remote village of Lawachowk that could not have funded this project on their own.
