Victoria, the vibrant capital of British Columbia, is located on the beautiful Vancouver Island. Industries in the city were once predomintely based in the navy, which is still a strong presence in the community today; however, industry in Victoria revolves around tourism for the most part. Victoria is known for it's beautiful gardens, Victorian architecture, and lively sea coast, as well as it's unique and fascinating culture.
Unfortunately, the community of Victoria still faces extensive challenges in homelessness and housing, mental health and addiction, and poverty reduction. Victoria needs your support for people with mental health issues and addictions in order to overcome some of these homelessness issues.
While ICO is an international organization with operations across Latin and North America, Africa and Asia, the core ICO team and headquarters operates out of Victoria, BC (with a number of friends and active members operating in Vancouver as well). Although much of our work is done remotely online, we share an office in the MS Society building at 1004 North Park St. that functions as an office, work space and meeting area. The ICO Victoria team regularly meets at this space hold community events, catch up with each other and get projects underway and completed. The above picture shows just a few of our volunteers at the ICO AGM and Family Day. Above all, we are friends working together, building global community. For ICO, global community begins with ourselves and extends to all of our volunteers, initiatives, friends, partners and communities.

The Victoria Engagement Team
ICO is excited to announce the formation of the Victoria Engagement Team. This team will function as a collection of collegial and community partners who come together on diverse projects that bring people together to reduce poverty, alleviate need and promote education. The team's current focus is community development and engagement through the service of preparing and serving free food to the community. The ICO Team has completed one community meal in Victoria, and is very excited to be beginning the process for our next meal, which we aim to do in partnership with Susan Jones, a new ICO community partner!
